Portable Oil Level Indicator Working principle

The portable oil level Indicator adopts the principle of sonar ranging, using a dedicated probe attached to the outer wall of the container to emit and receive sonar signals. With dedicated sonar wave processing technology as the system core and advanced high-speed signal processing technology, the oil level in the oil conservator is accurately calculated using the dedicated algorithm of Shaanxi Sound Science. When measuring the liquid level, the sonar wave signal is emitted from the probe, reflected back by the oil surface, and detected by the probe. After being processed by a proprietary algorithm, the time t is calculated, and the system calculates the oil level height based on the echo time and medium sound velocity.

The portable oil level Indicator achieves non-contact transformer oil level measurement inside a sealed container without opening the tank. And it has the following.

1. Non contact oil transformer level measurement

2. Magnetic fixation, no need for coupling agent, portable measurement with compact appearance and convenient portability

3. Telescopic insulated pole structure

4. Split structure for safe operation

5. Low power consumption, rechargeable

6. High measurement accuracy transformer oil level measurement error

7. Real time temperature measurement

On July 27th, a Portable oil level indicator was carried to measure the transformer oil conservator of a 110KV substation in Xuancheng, which is a corrugated tube type oil conservator. The diameter is 1 meter. The oil conservator comes with a liquid level gauge that displays 0-10. At that time, the liquid level was 6, resulting in a liquid level of 600mm.

Using a portable oil level indicator for front, middle, and rear multi-point measurements, the measured liquid levels were: 765mm in the front, 763mm in the middle, and 761mm in the rear. After measurement and comparison, it was found that the liquid level difference between the built-in level gauge of the oil conservator and the acoustic oil level indicator was 160mm. Therefore, it can be concluded that the liquid level display on the level gauge of this oil conservator is incorrect.

We stick the sesnor probe to the side of the tank and measure a diameter of 1 meter.

On June 28th, two 220KV transformer oil conservators were measured, which were capsule type oil conservators. Due to the fact that the tail and middle of the 220KV transformer are located in the middle of the transformer, the top position of the oil conservator has been measured multiple times. The oil conservator comes with a level gauge that displays 0-10. The first transformer oil conservator level gauge shows a liquid level of 7.2, while the second transformer oil conservator level gauge shows a liquid level of 8

The first transformer oil conservator

The transformer oil level indicator shows a liquid level of 7.2. Multiple measurements were made using a portable oil level indicator, and the liquid levels were measured as follows: 674mm for the first measurement, 673mm for the second measurement, and 674mm for the third measurement.

Visually, the diameter of the 220KV transformer oil conservator is approximately 1100mm. After calculation, the liquid level of the oil conservator equipped with a liquid level gauge is 792, and the liquid level of the portable oil level indicator is 674mm. The liquid level of the oil conservator equipped with a liquid level gauge is 118mm higher than that of the acoustic oil level indicator. Therefore, it can be concluded that the liquid level display on the oil conservator level gauge is incorrect.

The second transformer oil conservator

The portable oil level indicator shows a liquid level of 8. Multiple measurements were made using a portable oil level indicator, and the liquid levels were measured as: 691mm for the first time, 691mm for the second time, and 690mm for the third time.

Visually, the diameter of the 220KV transformer oil conservator is approximately 1100mm. After calculation, the liquid level of the oil conservator equipped with a liquid level gauge is 880, and the liquid level of the portable oil level indicator is 674mm. The liquid level of the oil conservator equipped with a liquid level gauge is 206mm higher than that of the acoustic oil level detector. Therefore, it can be concluded that the liquid level display on the oil conservator level indicator is incorrect.

After this transmformer oil level measurement, it was found that the portable oil level indicator was used for measurement.
